So sorry, but this is going to be picture overload. Devin had last Monday off of work because he has to work on Labor Day so we decided that we were going to do something fun. So we headed down to Goblin Valley with Kara and Ryan. We had a great time even though we roasted from the heat.
We got down there Friday night and set up camp. It was my first time camping down there and the campground is set against these awesome rocks.
Saturday morning we headed out to the Little Wild Horse trail (or something like that...). It was a fun hike through the dried up river bed. It was incredibly warm in the sun but it was fun to hike through the canyon walls.
The boys were pretty fun to watch. If they ever found a cave or something cool to climb up on, one would go and then the other. They even played the "if you touch the sand you die" game. So they spent a lot of time hopping from rock to rock.
They even tried to build a fire with flint and steel.
And a few more random pictures from the hike.
Can you see our faces down in the crack?
After we finished on our hike we went back to camp to relax a little bit and to eat some lunch. We played a few card games and then as soon as we were soaking wet from how bad we were sweating, we decided the best thing to do would be to sit in an air conditioned car. So we drove over to Hanksville to get out of the heat and to get some milkshakes. Man did they taste good!
Around 6 we decided it had cooled off just barely enough for us to head over to the valley. That is some of the most interesting landscape. It's really unlike anything you've ever seen.
Of course the boys had to climb up into every nook and cranny they could find...
...and ended up finding a cave. They threw plenty of rocks into it to see if anything was going to come out and when nothing did they figured they were safe to venture inside. They climbed in and realized they could start climbing up. So they went and they went. Kara and I were both too afraid of the small space so we stayed out in the open.
And once again, a few more random pictures...
And this, ladies and gentleman, is my favorite picture from the whole trip! Enjoy! :)

That looks like it was awesome, I have never been there, I will for sure be going now. I'm glad you had fun, and how lucky that you have sisters to do fun things with as couples.
Fantastic pictures! I'm glad you guys had fun!
Looks like fun--I'd stay out of the caves too I'm afraid. Not my idea of a "fun" time.
LOVEE the pictures and the scenery. Looks like you guys had so much fun even though it was SO hot! Last picture is hilarious, tell Dev that is a dork from Megie haha. Love you guys
You guys took some cute pictures. Im glad someone made it down south this year!
More proof that men don't ever really grow up :) We've had plans to go there, too, but haven't made it yet.
We had so much fun! Thanks for inviting us. Next time we go we'll have to go down when it's cooler. That will be more fun I think! I love the pictures you took though. I'll have to post ours.
I loved the pictures. I think Goblin Valley is a place you go in October. Sorry it was so hot.
Hey Devin, PEEK A BUTT...ha ha
Those pics are awesome! Looks like it was a fun trip inspite of the heat. That pic of Devin jumping across is pretty dang funny too!
I love the one of Devin in the hole in the rock.
Fantastic trip. Glad you guys were able to go. And I'm glad the boys came out of that cave alive!
