Sunday Sunday Sunday

Well first of all, Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers or mothers-to-be out there! Today has been an interesting and fun day. We started out going to church this morning. We made it through Sacrament Meeting and Sunday School and then right as we were about to start the lesson in Relief Society, the tornado siren went off. At first the ladies in the ward weren't sure if it was really the siren, but then they decided that it was. As everyone was gathering up their stuff, us Utah girls just sat there. Nancy or Tricia spoke up and said, "we're from Utah, what are we supposed to do?" We were then advised to go out into the hall. We stood in the hall for a minute, and then the siren turned off, so we went back in. As we were getting into the lesson, the siren started up again, so it was off to the hall one more time. As we were standing there this time, the boys came by and then the bishop. He told us that since church was almost over we could either brave it and try to drive home, or we could stay in the church - whichever way we thought we would be more safe. We all decided that even though the church would be safer, we would try to head home. We all made it and there were no tornado sightings. Maybe we'll catch one later... After church, Todd and Kara came over and hung out with us for a little while, then we headed over to Nancy and John's for a great pork dinner. We hung out there for a little while, watched the Golden Compass, made some home-made ice cream, finished up Survivor and then headed home for a good-night sleep. As we were walking in the door, I noticed a small dark object hopping in front of our neighbor's door. I thought it was a frog, and it turns out that I was right. So Devin, always trying to catch wild animals, went out and caught it. As you can see, it was just a tiny one:

He tried putting it in our fish tank and it just swam close to the surface, so we decided that he couldn't keep it as a pet. Oh darn. He took it back outside and let it loose over by the pond (where there have been many frog sightings and we knew he would have friends). It was a great day. And hopefully it will lead into a great week!

I'll bet that was exciting to hear the tornado sirens. It reminded me of when the nuclear power plant sirens went off the first time and I had no idea what was going on. I kind of wish they would have gone off for me in Relief Society yesterday...!

So glad you guys survived and that you didn't let Devin go chasing. Expect many, many more experiences like that all summer long!!!! Have fun! FYI: always keep a flashlight, blanket, and some snacks in your bathroom.

I'm glad you had a nice mother's day. And I'm glad it wasn't any more exciting than it was. We had a nice bbq with dad cooking salmon. Grandma and Grandpa, Kara and Ryan and Mark were here. We played Bocci and Catch Phrase.

Okay, so i still kind of new to this whole blog thing and it took me forever to find out how to leave a comment. Lol. But i'm kind of a baby when it comes to natural disasters that involve me! ha ha ha. I'm glad we didn't have to get in the bath tub all together... uh wait, that sounded bad. Anyways, i also didn't know devin cought a frog. Go him! Did you keep it?
